Well, I packed the umbrellas and so the sun was bound to shine for Elisabetta and Alex's wedding Nr. Exeter yesterday.
Many of Elisabetta's family came over from Italy for a quintessential English wedding in the lovely little church at Faringdon followed by a reception at historic Powderham Castle. I heard many exclamations of "Belissimma!" at the church and the castle but most were directed at Elisabetta who looked fabulous in her beautiful, flowing wedding dress.

I was browsing through some of last year's photos last night to find a dozen or so to print and mount to display at today's wedding fair. Came across this one of Katie and Rob. I love the way the light catches the dress, best man and bridesmaids...and even more the look on the bridesmaid's faces.

We had a lot of fun on Saturday photographing Gemma and Matthews' wedding at Haldon Belvedere followed by their reception at the Jack-in-the-Green, Nr. Exeter. Haldon Belvedere is a very romantic and atmospheric venue for a Devon wedding. It's nice and private on the top of a hill with fabulous views of the rolling Devon Countryside. Gemma and Matt and their guests thoroughly enjoyed their country castle wedding. The friendly ceremony upstairs was a lovely celebration followed by congratulations over a glass or two of champagne. What a great day!

We were up at Haldon Belvedere (Lawrence Castle) Nr. Exeter on Saturday to photograph Gemma and Mathew's devon wedding. This was the first time I have photographed a wedding there. What a location. Sarah and Phil invited 180 family and friends to their wedding at The Belmont Chapel in Exeter followed by a reception at Woodbury Park golf and country club. I like working at the Belmont not just because of the friendly atmosphere but also because it's very well lit!
At Woodbury Park we went for a tour of some photo locations in one of their golf buggies. The driver went off-road not realising that the rear wheels were kicking up mud onto Sarah's dress. Slight panic for a while until I dug out my wet weather camera drying towel that held stains at bay until we could get back to the clubhouse for Phil to take over with some rinses and drys.

The wet and windy weather last Saturday didn't spoil Jules and James' happy day. St. Johns Church in Exmouth was a lovely setting for their large gathering of friends and family, many of whom came from Ireland in very good spirits. On the way to Exeter Golf and Country Club we dropped in at Jules' favourite set of sand dunes in Exmouth. It was raining, we broke two umbrellas and Jules' veil flew off. No worries, they thoroughly enjoyed their first husband and wife trip to the beach.

Hannah and David enlisted eight bridesmaids for their wedding at St. Martin's Church, Exminster and The Lord Haldon Hotel. Made it easy for me to take some beautiful and fun wedding photographs.
