Kellie and Carl at Polhawn Fort
We had a great day last Saturday at Carl and Kellie's wedding at Polhawn Fort on the Rame Peninsula in Cornwall. Polhawn Fort is a unique venue for a house (fort?) party wedding. Kellie and Carl and family and friends moved in on Friday and made the fort their own with a nautical theme. I always enjoy capturing two sets of family and friends getting to know each other under very happy circumstances. Thanks Kellie/Carl for investing in us to capture you special day.

For the photographers reading this, Polhawn Fort has very few windows and they are just big enough to poke a canon out of. It's dark. The main room is lovely when lit by fairly lights and candles but is quite a challenge for us photographers especially when it's dull outside. Well, my Canon 5D Mark 2 came to the rescue. I photographed the ceremony at 5ooo ASA and captured the atmosphere perfectly. Thanks Canon for amazing high ISO/low noise technology.

Colorado Comes to Cornwall
I photographed Kirsty and Josh's wedding over at Polhawn Fort on the Rame Peninsula in Cornwall last Thursday. Josh and Kirsty live in Colorado and had come back to England to marry where Kirsty was brought up in the South West. Polhawn Fort was a fantastic house party venue for their two families to get together and get to know each other. Unfortunately Thursday was our one day of rain last week which kept everyone inside most of the day but we nipped out during a break in the showers for some family photos and a bit of time-out on the beach.
Kirsty wore Josh's grandmother's antique wedding dress which was slightly altered to allow for her 'bump' due later in the year. She looked totally radiant. A beautiful and simple ceremony brought tears to many!

Rain, Rain Go Away
Unfortunately the rain stayed for most of the day on Lucy and Lee's wedding last Saturday at Maker Church and The Friary Manor Hotel in Cornwall. However, by the end of the meal the sun broke through to help celebrate their happy day. Lee is a Squadron Leader flying Hercules aircraft and his friends provided a Lucy with a Guard of Honour on arriving and leaving the church. They also shared out a bottle of port amongst themselves prior to the ceremony - a new tradition to me.
For their time-out and some romantic photos we went down to Mount Edgecumbe at Cremyl and despite the rain and umbrella Lucy and Lee were smiling and looking great.
And to top the day a Hercules just happened to fly by...

A Glorious Day at Polhawn Fort
Karly and Duncan were hoping for good weather for their September wedding at the very unique Polhawn Fort on Rame Peninsula in Cornwall just across the Tamar from Plymouth. They weren't dissapointed. Lovely weather throughout the day, topped by a fabulous sunset. Duncan is a surf addict and didn't hesitate to get his feet wet!
